Moon diary for a month
Draw the moon at the same time each evening and watch a pattern appear over four weeks.
Nothing teaches patience and pattern like the moon. One minute a night, one month long.
What you need
- A notebook or a sheet with 28 circles
- A pencil
- A window with a clear view
How to do it
- 1
Pick a time you are usually home, such as bedtime.
- 2
Each evening, look for the moon and shade in the dark part of your circle.
- 3
Write the date and whether the sky was clear.
- 4
After two weeks, guess what the next seven nights will look like.
- 5
At the end, count the days from one full moon to the next.
