Terms of Service
These terms set out the rules for using Homeschool Club. By signing up or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Homeschool Club.
Service description
Homeschool Club is a home education planning tool for UK families with children aged 4 to 11. It helps parents create weekly lesson plans, discover local activities and events, connect with other home educating families, and access guides and resources.
Homeschool Club is not a school, academy, tutor, or accredited education provider. It does not deliver statutory education, award qualifications, or carry out assessments. It is software that supports parents in planning and organising their own home education provision.
Acceptable use
You may use Homeschool Club only for lawful, personal, family home education purposes. You must not:
- Use Homeschool Club to harm, exploit, or endanger children or anyone else.
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
- Share illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit content.
- Attempt to break into, disrupt, or overload the service.
- Scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the app or its content without permission.
- Use another person's account without permission.
- Provide false information when signing up.
We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who breaches these rules. If you see misuse, report it to us at hello@homeschoolclub.co.
Subscriptions and pricing
Homeschool Club offers the following plans:
- Free trial: 7 days full access from the date you sign up. Card details are required to start, but nothing is charged during the trial.
- Monthly: £20 per month, billed automatically each month.
- Annual: £199 per year, billed automatically each year.
Prices include VAT where applicable and are shown in GBP. We may change pricing for new subscribers in the future, but any price you lock in at signup will stay the same for your current subscription period unless you agree to a change.
Free trial
New accounts receive a 7-day free trial of all features. You enter your card details when you sign up, but we do not take any payment during the trial. We will email you a reminder 2 days before your trial ends. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are never charged. If you do not cancel, your chosen plan starts automatically on day 8 at the standard rate, or the founding family rate if you joined as a founding family, and there is no ongoing free plan.
You can cancel at any time from your account settings, during the trial or afterwards. Cancelling stops future payments; access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
We reserve the right to limit trial abuse, such as multiple trials created by the same household.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access until then.
If you cancel within 14 days of your first paid subscription and you have not materially used the service, you may be entitled to a full refund. After that, fees are generally non-refundable, except where required by law.
Limitation of liability
Homeschool Club is a planning tool, not a school or accredited provider. We do not guarantee that any lesson plan, activity, or local event recommendation meets legal requirements, suits your child, or produces specific educational outcomes.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of Homeschool Club, including but not limited to educational decisions, local authority interactions, or technical interruptions.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited under UK law.
User responsibilities
As a parent or legal guardian using Homeschool Club, you remain solely responsible for your child's education and welfare. This includes:
- Ensuring your home education provision is suitable for your child's age and ability.
- Complying with the law in England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland as it applies to you.
- Responding to your local authority if they make reasonable enquiries.
- Keeping your account details secure and accurate.
- Supervising your child's use of the app and any online activity it leads to.
Homeschool Club may suggest activities, resources, and events, but it is up to you to decide what is appropriate and safe for your family.
Intellectual property
Homeschool Club and its content, including software, designs, text, and generated plans, are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the service for your own home education planning.
You keep ownership of any content you add, such as your child's notes or schedule preferences. By adding content, you give us permission to store and process it so we can provide the service to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice in the app. The latest version will always be available on this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Dispute resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first at hello@homeschoolclub.co so we can try to resolve it informally.
If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising your statutory consumer rights or seeking urgent injunctive relief.
