Design a board game about your street
Map your street, then turn it into a board game with rules, cards and a way to win.
Designing rules is harder than following them, and much more interesting.
What you need
- A large sheet of paper or cardboard
- Pens
- Small objects for counters
- A die, or paper to make spinners
How to do it
- 1
Walk your street and note the landmarks worth landing on.
- 2
Draw the board as a path from one end to the other.
- 3
Write eight event cards, four helpful and four unhelpful.
- 4
Write the rules down clearly enough for someone else to play.
- 5
Play it with the family, then change one rule that did not work.
