Ice suncatchers on the line
Freeze petals, berries and leaves into ice discs and hang them out on a frosty morning.
Frost turns a garden into a workshop. These last as long as the cold does, which is part of the lesson.
What you need
- Shallow dishes or a bun tin
- Leaves, petals, berries, small twigs
- String
- A freezer or a very cold night
How to do it
- 1
Lay a loop of string across each dish with the ends hanging out.
- 2
Arrange your finds in the dish and pour in water to just cover them.
- 3
Leave outside overnight or freeze for four hours.
- 4
Ease each disc out and hang them from a branch or the washing line.
- 5
Check every hour and time how long they last in the sun.
