Sheet and peg den
Turn chairs, sheets and clothes pegs into a den, then move in with books and a torch.
A den is a room your child designed. Reading inside it counts.
What you need
- Old sheets or blankets
- Clothes pegs
- Chairs, a table or a sofa
- A torch and some books
How to do it
- 1
Choose a corner and plan the shape of your den on paper.
- 2
Peg sheets between chairs and the table to make walls and a roof.
- 3
Test it by crawling in, then fix any bits that sag.
- 4
Furnish it with cushions, a torch and a pile of books.
- 5
Read in there for twenty minutes, then draw a floor plan of your den.
