Sock puppet story theatre
Odd socks become characters, a table becomes a stage, and your child becomes the storyteller.
The best speaking and listening practice never feels like practice.
What you need
- Odd socks
- Buttons, wool or paper scraps
- A tea towel or sheet
- A table
How to do it
- 1
Give each sock a face using scraps, no glue needed if you tuck and tie.
- 2
Decide who your characters are and what each one wants.
- 3
Hang the tea towel over the table edge for a stage.
- 4
Tell the story once, then tell it again with a different ending.
- 5
Take turns being the audience and asking the puppets questions.
